Have you remembered our activities planned for May??
On Tuesday May 4th we have a talk by Paul Gallivan Head Gardener at Woolbeding. This talk will be via Zoom so make sure you have registered your interest in attending with the Secretary.
On Saturday May 22nd we have our Plant sale at the Whistle Stop car park, Starting at 08:30. Yes it’s an early start but is always well worth the effort.

LHS GARDENING TALKS ONLINE!!
Yes – after cancelling all our events in the last year, the continuing uncertainty about lockdown end dates, government regulations about indoor meetings, and the limits on numbers at the Triangle, we are finally going to offer online gardening talks for you via ZOOM!
This may not appeal to everyone, but it is a way for us to keep in touch and keep momentum going so let’s hope we get an encouraging response. We can have up to 100 members joining the sessions and you will be sent an e mail invitation link a few days before the event.

Topic – RASPBERRIES AND STRAWBERRIES – PESTS AND DISEASES – LESSONS FOR HOME GARDENERS FROM COMMERCIAL GROWERS.
Alan is one of our members, who is a qualified horticulturalist specialising in commercial crop protection and has very kindly offered to do a trial talk for us to see how we get on with zooming. So let’s support him!
MAY 4th @ 7-30pm we shall hold a (very) brief AGM business meeting, followed by

Topic – A TOUR THROUGH THE SEASONS AT WOOLBEDING and an INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW GLASSHOUSE.
A chance to see and hear news and views from this wonderful local garden.

DAN PEARSON’s hotly anticipated talk THE EDUCATION OF A GARDENER.

Latest News
The Horticultural Society regrets to announce that due to the Corona virus-Covid 19 all meetings etc. have been postponed until after Easter.
However, it is hoped that The Trading Hut on the Rake Road Allotments will be available from 20th February to purchase compost and all other gardening requirements by phoning Ken Payne, 01730 893906 to make arrangements if you wish to make a purchase.
Thank you for all your support and we really look forward to meeting you again in the not too distant future when it is safe for us to do so!
